Unlike shaving, waxing extracts the whole hair from the root. Doing this over time, you damage the hair bulb. In time the hair grows back less dense and with a more delicate texture. This is good if you want to make your body hair thinner and have less regrowth.

Yes and no, depending on your service and what you wear.

Example:Underarms- If you are wearing a tank, you can keep that on during the service. If you're coming in wearing a long sleeve, then we are taking that off.

Brazilian- Everything is removed from the waist down.

You need three weeks of hair growth from your last shave or trim. The hair grows in three separate hair cycles. (When cycle one is done rising, cycle two will start... & so on.) Therefore giving your hair three weeks to boost will get you a better result.

You should wait at least 4-6 weeks. With continuous waxing, your hair will grow thinner and slower.
Depending on the person, the 4-6 week period is subject to change. We will discuss that during your visit to The Babe Cave. We always recommend to book your appointments in advanced, as spots are always limited. 

We use a high-end, professional soft wax. We use soft wax because this wax does not dry on the skin, which requires a cotton muslin strip to remove.

Everyone has different skin types; you may or may not react depending on your skin. Typically the time you’ll see a response is when you first start. (Your skin is like, “What the heck.”). In time you will see less and less until POOF, no more!

Histamine Reaction

Waxing removes hair from the root, thus creating trauma to the skin. The body may react to this trauma with a histamine reaction. They resemble small white heads.

What to do: You can apply a warm compress to remove any irritation and cleanse the area. Apply an anti-histamine cream, like hydrocortisone, or take a Benadryl before the service. 

Folliculitis

Those tiny red bumps a few hours after waxing are folliculitis, an inflammation of the hair follicles. Most spots that occur after waxing usually only last for about three days.

What to do: You can apply a warm compress to remove any irritation and cleanse the area. Apply an antibiotic cream like Neosporin cream. 

Both require only minor treatment to relieve the discomfort and prevent infection.

You need to exfoliate your skin on the surface and underneath to prevent ingrown hairs. Exfoliating will keep your skin clean of dead skin cells, oils, dirt, etc. 

• Surface: DRY BRUSH- The mechanical action of dry brushing is terrific for kicking off dead skin from the surface of the skin. Dry brushing unclogs the pores in the exfoliation process. It also helps detoxify by increasing blood circulation, promoting lymph flow/drainage, and stimulating your nervous system.
• Under the skin: TEA TREE OIL- Tea tree oil is a natural astringent with many soothing properties. It's good to apply after your surface exfoliation to sink into the skin; this will keep your skin clean.
• PFB VANISH- PFB is a post-waxing serum that helps eliminate existing and prevents pre-existing ingrown hair. Roll this on after your surface exfoliant.
• PFB CHROMABRIGHT- PFB Chromabright will do the same as the PFB Vanish and lighten darker pigmentation or scarring from being ingrown over time.

It’s best to take it easy the first 24 hrs after a wax. Your follicles are like little open pools; anything that can get in them can cause irritation or a reaction.

Spray tanning, bed/sun tanning, workouts, intimacy, heavy/scented solid lotions.
